North Carolina Egyptian Revival Buildings

Rocky Mount:
Masonic Temple

Masonic Temple
Shelby, NC
The Masonic Temple was built in 1925. It is considered the most sophisticated example of Egyptian Revival architecture in North Carolina. The fourth floor served as the Cleveland Lodge headquarters. The ground floor housed a variety of tenants over the years including a J.C. Penney store and a Piggly-Wiggly grocery. The building is now used for office and residential space.
